The other day, there was news in Japan that "a system used by a mail-order site of a major specialty store was hacked and tampered with, and customer credit card information was leaked."
After reading this news, I'm sure some of you may be worried about shopping at a "small online shop" like ours, so I'd like to explain.
Since its opening in 2020, Progress Farm's online shop has been using the EC (e-commerce) production platform of a company headquartered in Ottawa, Canada called "Shopify" .
By 2021, online shops created using the Shopify system will be used by approximately 2 million stores in 175 countries around the world, with approximately 600 million customers, with a total distribution volume of 25 trillion yen. It is the number one system in the world .
Regarding the security you are concerned about, we have received an explanation from Shopify that "We meet the global standards of the credit card industry established for the safe handling of customer credit card information ."
In addition, from small shops like ours to large companies (such as Nike, Tesla, Nestle, Panasonic, etc.), we can see that Shopify's posture is solid.
We cannot say with certainty that there will be no problems in the future, but based on the above, we believe that there will be no problems at this stage. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
